What is Unfogged?

You write out something unresolved: a decision, a conversation you keep replaying, something that won't settle. Unfogged works from how you wrote it and names what you're circling, including the thing you haven't said out loud. It doesn't tell you what to do. It shows you what you already think.

How is this different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT optimizes for the question you typed. Unfogged optimizes for the question you didn't. ChatGPT is a brilliant general-purpose tool: if you know what to ask, it can help. Unfogged is built for the moments when you don't yet know what to ask. It works from what you wrote and surfaces what you didn't write: the part you're not saying. And unlike a chat that resets each session, it keeps what you write, so across enough briefs it surfaces the pattern in how you decide, not just the answer to one question. That cross-brief view is The Bigger Picture, and nothing that starts cold each time can produce it.

Will it just tell me what I want to hear?

No. That's the point of it. You're not short on people who agree with you. Unfogged says the thing they won't: the part you're working around, named plainly. Generously, but plainly.

Is this a substitute for professional help?

Accepted Answer

No. Unfogged works from what you write, not who you are. It won't diagnose you, won't treat anything, and it's built for working adults thinking through career and personal calls — not for clinical care. What is The Bigger Picture?

It's the brief across your briefs: the thing you keep circling that no single one shows. We're still building it, and we'd rather show you nothing than a shallow version, so it isn't live yet. When it is, it opens once you've written enough for it to say something real.

Where does my writing go?

Accepted Answer

Your writing is sent over an encrypted connection to Anthropic, the company behind Claude, to generate your brief. Anthropic may hold inputs briefly for abuse-prevention, then deletes them. Your words live in your account, and nowhere else you haven't put them.

Who can see my briefs?

Accepted Answer

You. That's the default and it stays the default. If you want a coach or advisor to read one, you share a private link you can revoke. Nothing is shared unless you do it yourself. The Bigger Picture, the pattern across your briefs, is never shareable. That one's yours alone, by design.

What does it cost?

While we're building it, everything is free: unlimited briefs, the complete brief, and the Bigger Picture across them. No card. When we launch paid plans, founding members lock the rate for life, below the standard price at launch. You pay nothing until then, and there's no card to start.
